Our History

Chicago Brass has been in business since 1985. When the decorative market began to emerge in Chicago's Old Town and Lincoln Park communities during the late1970's, CJ Schnakenberg responded. The ultimate result was a decision to open a separate company to respond to the increasing and broader marketplace demand. Decades later the company has evolved and grown into Chicago's premier supplier of luxury plumbing and architectural hardware products. They maintain their commitment to service and providing customers with high quality product. Chicago Brass has been in business since 1985. The family that owns and operates Chicago Brass however has been involved in the building supplies and hardware industry since 1914 when they came to the United States from Germany and opened one of the original Ace Hardware Stores.

As we look to the future Chicago Brass is constantly focusing on brining quality innovative product to the marketplace through increasingly effective and efficient methods. We refuse to rely upon our past for market share but instead continue to improve and push for complete customer satisfaction.
